In this year’s International Exchange Meeting on China's Reform Experience in Optimizing Business Environment (Tax Facilitation Session)hosted by the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank, Guangzhou Tax Service was appointed by the State Tax Administration to represent Guangdong Provincial Tax Service. As the only excellent Chinese unit in the tax-related field, Guangzhou Tax Service shared Guangdong’s and Guangzhou’s practices and experience in optimizing tax services and business environment by benchmarking against the highest international standards with the World Bank, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Mozambique, etc.

Yang Xuchun, Deputy Party Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Tax Service and Party Secretary and Director General of Guangzhou Tax Service, delivered a keynote speech titled “Focusing on Smart Tax Services, Writing Great Chapters of Guangzhou and Guangdong”. Taking smart tax services as the breakthrough point, Yang explained in detail how Guangzhou offered more convenient, streamlined, and reliable tax services with lower costs for taxpayers, through a smart service system, smart regulatory environment, and smart tax and fee reduction. He also answered questions from delegates on topics such as “digitization reform”, “security of tax-related data” and “simplification of tax declaration forms and procedures”. The practices he introduced in smart taxation won praise from the World Bank experts and representatives of participant economies.
