Recently, the State Taxation Administration, the Ministry of Commerce, and the General Customs Administration agreed to allow Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone to launch a pilot program for general taxpayer status for value-added tax, which has been recorded in the books.

As the highest level of openness, with the most preferential policies, the most comprehensive functions and the simplest procedures, the comprehensive bonded zone is an important platform for China's opening up to the outside world. After the launch of the pilot program for general taxpayer status for value-added tax in Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, enterprises within the zone that meet the requirements can voluntarily apply to become pilot enterprises.

It is reported that after Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone was approved by the State Council in December 17 2020, the Zhanjiang Taxation Bureau set up a special working group to deeply participate in the research, investment attraction, policy interpretation and other aspects of the zone project by leveraging its tax functions. The Bureau also provided "one enterprise, one policy" tax policy guidance to enterprises planning to enter the zone, ensuring that they are fully aware of and can fully enjoy policy benefits. The Bureau actively sought the support of the State Taxation Administration and the Provincial Taxation Bureau, and made every effort to promote the recording and rapid implementation of the pilot program for general taxpayer status for value-added tax in Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

Next, Zhanjiang Taxation Bureau will continue to promote high-level opening up, strengthen inter-departmental cooperation and development, play the role of its departmental functions, actively participate in and promote the closure and operation of Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and increase policy publicity and guidance for enterprises to ensure that they are fully aware of and can fully enjoy policy benefits. The Bureau will continue to make high-quality development of Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone an important research topic, actively provide advice and suggestions for investment attraction in the zone, and fully support the high-quality development of Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone based on its advantages in location, port and industry and other aspects.
