A on-site training program of international taxation was held in Guangdong, a southern Chinese province, with 17 finance and taxation officials from 6 member countries of the BRI such as Togo, Ethiopia, Sudan, Nigeria, Zambia and Egypt.
During on-site lectures of the sixth program supported by BRITACEG and the CIDCA in 2023, a seminar presented by the Guangdong Provincial Tax Service focused on boosting high-quality development with outstanding tax business environment. Program participants also visited some local tax service halls in Haizhu District, Guangzhou and Dongguan city, further understanding the operation of smart tax service hall, and the tax measures of the E-tax office, self-service tax terminal, and the V-Tax Remote Visualization of Tax Counselling.
Program participants, Chinese tax officials and representatives of enterprises from Africa joined a virtual meeting at the headquarter of a oversea listed high-tech company in Dongguan city. Some questions asked the representatives of enterprises from Africa were responded by the tax officials at large, and they talked more about how to improve the quality of tax services and optimize the business environment.
Mohammad Kamal, Deputy Director of the Technical Services Division of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning of Nigeria, introduced Nigerian policies on tariffs, investment promotion and taxation to the representatives of Nigerian branch of the enterprises, and discussed the future development vision of Chinese enterprises in Nigeria. Some other African participant officials introduced their incentives policies on tax, and warmly welcomed the Chinese enterprises to invest and build factories in Africa.
This is the first virtual meeting among domestic and foreign tax officials and enterprises since the launch of the taxation training programs this year, which was well appreciated by participants.
