Recently, Guangzhou Tax Service, State Taxation Administration, held a special seminar on Individual Income Tax（IIT） policies for foreigners who work and live in Guangzhou and the Greater Bay Area. It is a follow-up activity of the 30th National Tax Publicity Month, around the theme of “Taxation policy benefits taxpayers; further reform creates vitality”. The seminar brought a “feast” to foreign friends in English-language atmosphere with Chinese features. It is a way to provide tax support to make Guangzhou a typical gathering place for talents from home and abroad.

The reporter was informed that more than 80 foreigners attended the seminar. They mostly worked in banking, insurance, universities, foreign investment, consulting, advanced manufacturing and other establishments in Guangzhou. The presenters introduced IIT policies and cases in English, with detailed explanation of the policy contents concerning the annual tax calculation, and talent subsidies in the Great Bay Area. In addition, Guangzhou Tax Service "officially announced" the organization of the language service team and the service volunteers team for IIT .They will play an important role in helping foreigners in IIT related matters legally and conveniently.

Vetik, a foreign teacher from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, also told reporters: "This seminar has introduced preferential policies concerning us. I think Guangzhou is full of opportunities, and I am confident that I will do well here. "

As the reporter has learned, the seminar is a curial step for Guangzhou Taxation in implementing the strategy and action plan of openning international taxation.
